All About Therapy
Therapy is a deeply personal experience. In therapy you will connect with your therapist and explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in a new light. Each therapy session is tailored to your unique needs to help you start feeling better. Therapy sessions occur 100% outdoors in the elements, and I utilize a variety of strategies to ensure that we are able to help you move forward and find wellness within your life.

Individual Therapy
Therapy is a deeply personal experience. In therapy you will connect with your therapist and explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in a new light. Each therapy session is tailored to your unique needs to help you start feeling better. Therapy sessions occur 100% outdoors in the elements, and I utilize a variety of strategies to ensure that we are able to help you move forward and find wellness within your life. Outdoor therapy sessions will happen rain or shine, and may be active sessions that include hiking, walking, biking, and/or cross country skiing, or they may be more sedentary and include sessions of meditating on the shore of Lake Superior, journaling, creating mandalas with found objects to name a few.
Cold Water Immersion
I will guide you as we dip together in Lake Superior and practice breathwork. Dip locations will vary based on weather and ice coverage, and may be changed last minute. We will stay in the lake anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes depending on your tolerance and ability level. Hot tea will be provided afterwards, as well as debriefing and general therapy. You must have a signed note from your doctor before I will allow you to engage in this form of therapy with me. You will also need to complete the readiness program, which is a quick 15-20 minute meeting with me to go over expectations, safety, and items to bring.
Therapeutic Hiking
Join me for a therapeutic hike. Expect to explore one of the many hiking trails available to us thanks to the Superior Hiking Trail in the Twin Ports area. Location will be shared with you prior to your appointment, and may be subject to change based on weather. We may stop occasionally to engage in an outdoor therapeutic activity. Bring your own snacks, water bottle, sunscreen and/or bug spray. A signed release must be completed by your doctor prior to signing up for this type of session.
Premarital Counseling and Marriage Counseling
I have been trained in the Prepare/Enrich program, and am able to help you and your partner complete their couples assessments. The Prepare/Enrich program is highly customizable, and has options to include a faith based component if desired. It is considered the #1 premarital and marriage assessment tool, backed by decades of research.
Sacred Ceremonies
I am an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church. I offer a variety of sacred ceremonies or rituals, and am always open to creating a new ceremony based on your specific needs. Here are some of the sacred ceremonies available:
